LIMBERLOST PLACE

TORONTO, ONTARIO

Client: George Brown College
Architect and Rendering Credits: Moriyama Teshima Architects | Acton Ostry Architects

Limberlost Place is the first tall wood building in Ontario. The building, an addition to the Waterfront Campus forming part of George Brown College, features large spans and a beamless structure. The approvals process for this building included numerous meetings with the Jurisdiction Authorities and was based on years of research and academic papers that contributed to the understanding of mass timber construction.

This innovative project has won numerous awards and CHM is thrilled to have been part of the team in the role of Fire Engineering and in developing the approved Alternative Solution in support of the exposed mass timber structure.
